My daughter is special needs and one of her therapists recently suggested sensory boards for us to check out. I never realized the awesomeness of them until I began to search. There are so many! You can even DIY one! (I found an awesome tutorial, here). With that being said, my husband is uber creative. I tend to call him the modern day Magiver. I plan on having him tackle one, but in the meantime, I found a bunch on Etsy that I’m completely in love with! Both kids will love them I think!
Sensory play includes any activity that stimulates your young child’s senses: touch, smell, taste, sight and hearing. Sensory activities and sensory boards facilitate exploration and naturally encourage children to use scientific processes while they play, create, investigate and explore. Spending time stimulating their senses helps children develop cognitively, linguistically, socially and emotionally, physically and creatively.
This sensory board is full of all sorts of fun goodies! It’s perfect for her!
This one is huge! So much to do!
This one is my absolute favorite.
Did you buy a sensory board or did you make one? I’d love to see yours!
