Too Cute: Biscotti and Kate Mack

Something happened when my daughter was born. I’m not a girly girl, nor do I particularly care for accessories, dressing up, etc. However, once she was born, it’s like my inner girl came out. I dress her head to toe in outfits that are to die for. I put her in so much pink and glitter that I simply squeal in delight! The dresses! The tutus! It’s love. That leads me to my newest obsession, Biscotti and Kate Mack. For those of you with little fashionistas, this post is for you!

This Wild Style dress is my favorite. I love the animal print and the tutu! Think I can also get it in my size?!

Biscotti and Kate MackAdorable.

This Material Girl dress screams diva. I love everything about it.

Items We Love: Burt’s Bees Baby Bee Pre-Moistened Cloths

Burt's Bees Baby Bee Pre-Moistened Cloths

I recently picked up a packet of Burt’s Bees Baby Bee Pre-Moistened Cloths and just wanted to share how much I love these wipes! I got them to wipe down my son’s face between baths and not only do I love them because they seem to work well but my son also seems to love how cooling they are on his face!

I keep these right by my son’s diaper changer so that I can give his face a quick wash on the days that he doesn’t get baths and I was amazed to see him get a big smile on his face when I started wiping him down. I expected him to hate it, but he just sits there smiling goofily. I can only assume it’s because he runs a little on the warm side and these cloths are cooling and refreshing to him. What’s great is that the package is small and light so I can also toss it in the diaper bag for when we are on the go! My son is a few weeks away from eating “real” food, so I imagine these wipes will definitely be coming in handy for hand and face wipe downs soon.

I have incredibly sensitive skin and until proven otherwise I’m working under the assumption that my son will as well. That’s why I went with the Burt’s Bees pre-moistened cloths. Other brands have them as well but I wanted to make sure to get something super gentle. I’m also allergic to scented products and love that these are fragrance free as well!

I picked up my Burt’s Bees Baby Bee Pre-Moistened Cloths for $6.29 at Target.

Junior Explorers Review: An Adventure & Conservation Subscription for Kids

Junior Explorers Review

One thing I hope my son inherits from his father and I is a love of adventure and a need to see the world. I hope we can make travel a regular part of his life but since we can’t be on the road all of the time I plan to supplement his travels any other way that I can including, perhaps, through a subscription box like Junior Explorers.

Junior Explorers is a kids’ adventure subscription box for kids ages 5-12. Each month Junior Explorers sends out a new package exploring different wildlife habitats around the world. There’s a snail mail component and an online component, so it’s guaranteed to keep kids entertained for hours.

The Junior Explorers package I received to review focused on the Great Barrier Reef. I loved this since my husband and I had traveled to the Great Barrier Reef on our honeymoon, so this was a walk down memory lane! All of the materials came packed in the cute envelope above.

Junior Explorers Letter

The first thing in the envelope was a letter explaining the mission. Kia and Kyle are the mission guides, who are more a factor in the online component.

Junior Explorers Activity Book

This Activity Book wasn’t huge, but had some fun activities that would keep kids busy for awhile!

Baby Sunscreen Wipes by MD Moms Makes Applying Sunscreen a Cinch on Little Ones

Baby Sunscreen Wipes by MD Moms

We went to Florida a couple of weeks ago and I purchased a couple of different sunscreens for my son. He had just turned 3 months at the time, so I wasn’t sure what would work best on his skin and be easy to apply on his squirmy limbs. I’m in a Chicago-based-moms Facebook group where this exact issue came up and many moms recommended Baby Sunscreen Wipes by MD Moms so it was one of the options I purchased. It should have been the only one.

Perks to this sunscreen:

  • Developed by Pediatrician-Moms; clinically tested; hypoallergenic; dermatologist approved
  • Contains NO phthalates, lanolin, mineral oil, petroleum or waxes
  • Made in USA; no animal testing
  • Winner NAPPA Gold Award; winner Babble’s Best Sunscreen For Kids Award
  • Pure mineral non-chemical sunscreen actives; non-irritating to eyes; broad spectrum protection protects against UVA and UVB rays; water resistant 80 minutes

One more perk that isn’t listed above? The packet is great to throw in your purse, diaper bag, or beach bag without fear of any sort of product spillage!

These baby sunscreen wipes couldn’t be easier to apply. Just take one out of the package and gently rub it all over your child’s body. The sunscreen applies in a light sheen so you will be able to see where it is going on your child. The wipes go a long way but it took about a wipe and a half to cover my son.

As for how it works, my son and I were in the sun the amount of time. I had covered him in this sunscreen (which has SPF 30), and he was also wearing swim trunks and a rash guard. I was so focused on him that I forgot to apply sunscreen to myself. After approximately 45 minutes in the sun he didn’t get any color while I actually got a little bit tan. The sun was definitely strong down in Florida but he didn’t show any signs of being outside at all. Score one for this mom!

The downside to these Baby Sunscreen Wipes by MD Moms is that they’re expensive. There’s no getting around this. 20 wipes will set you back $15.95, which breaks down to almost 80 cents per wipe. Since I used 2 wipes on my son that’s almost $1.60 per application! That said, I definitely think these wipes are worth the price because they work and while my son is so little, the wipes made it really easy to apply sunscreen to his squirmy limbs.

If you can get past the price, I highly recommend these baby sunscreen wipes. They worked great for us and I loved the convenience. I don’t know if I will keep using them once my son is older and more sturdy (thus it should be easier to apply something by hand), but for now I absolutely love them!

You can get Baby Sunscreen Wipes by MD Moms at Amazon for $15.95 and they ship for free with an Amazon Prime membership. One word of warning though: This is a product with frequent price shifts so it may not be the same from day-to-day!
